Application guide
SweptPath
Swept path analysis.
What this tool does
Swept path analysis. This guide describes the main workflow, key information and stated limits to review when using the tool.
Open a floor plan
Choose a PDF from your device or drop it onto the upload area. The file opens locally in your browser and is not uploaded to a server. Use the page arrows to select a floor plan page and the zoom controls to inspect it.
Set the drawing scale
Calibration is stored separately for each page while the PDF remains open. Zooming does not change the calibrated distance. Choose Clear scale for this page to remove a calibration.
- Select the page containing the dimension you will use.
- Choose Pick two points and click the ends of a known dimension on the plan.
- Enter the real distance in metres and choose Set scale.
Draw and review a vehicle path
The orange area is the sampled swept envelope. A red turn marker means the estimated outer-front-corner radius is below the selected vehicle's listed minimum.
- Choose a vehicle and check its dimensions and source. Add a custom rigid vehicle if needed.
- Choose Draw path and click points along the centre of the rear axle. Set Next segments to Reverse before adding a reversing segment.
- Use Select to drag, insert or delete points. Undo and Redo restore path edits. Use Play or Step to review body positions.
Check clearance
Obstacles and paths belong to the current PDF page. A segment is a conflict when it touches the sampled envelope or is within the stated clearance.
- Choose Draw obstacle and click along a wall, kerb or other fixed edge. Finish line ends that polyline; click again to start another.
- Enter the required clearance in metres in Analysis.
- Review red obstacle segments and the minimum clearance. Clear obstacles removes them without deleting the path.
Export a result
PNG includes the PDF and current overlays. SVG contains vector overlays only. DXF contains path, envelope, obstacle and scale-reference polylines in metres, using the PDF page's top left as the origin and Y upwards.
Check the inputs and result
This is an indicative 2D rigid-body check using sampled positions and a raster-cleaned outline. It does not model steering dynamics, articulation, height, load overhang, mirrors or driver behaviour. Confirm the chosen vehicle's actual dimensions and the plan calibration before using the result for a site decision.
