Important Notice — Please Read Before Use
StructCalc.online provides browser-based computational tools for use by qualified structural and geotechnical engineers as an aid to the independent verification and checking of designs prepared by others. The Service is not offered, and must not be used, as a primary design tool.
- Intended users. Access to the Service is restricted to qualified engineers acting in the course of their professional practice. By subscribing you warrant that you (a) hold appropriate engineering qualifications and professional membership, (b) are competent to interpret the outputs in the context of the relevant codes, standards and site conditions, and (c) are subscribing for business purposes and not as a consumer.
- Verification, not design. The tools assist with checking calculations against published engineering principles. They do not replace engineering judgement, do not certify designs, and do not constitute professional advice. Any design decision made wholly or partly on the basis of an output from the Service remains the sole responsibility of the user and of the engineer formally responsible for the design.
- No warranty. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, StructCalc.online makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, fitness for any particular purpose, or freedom from error of the tools or their outputs. Users must independently verify all inputs and all outputs before relying on them for any purpose.
- User responsibilities. The user is solely responsible for: selecting an appropriate analysis method for the problem at hand; entering accurate input parameters; interpreting outputs in the context of relevant national and international codes (including but not limited to BS, BS EN and Eurocode standards and their National Annexes); applying appropriate partial factors, safety factors and engineering judgement; and arranging independent checking and approval of any design that draws on the outputs of the Service.
- No relationship with third-party software. The methods implemented by the Service are classical engineering procedures available in the published technical literature. The Service is independently developed and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or compatible with any commercial geotechnical or structural analysis software. Comparisons of numerical outputs between the Service and any third-party software are the user's responsibility and any differences may arise from legitimate differences in modelling assumptions, discretisation, or implementation detail.
- Limitation of liability. Save for liability that cannot be excluded by law (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation), StructCalc.online's total aggregate liability to any user in connection with the Service, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, is limited to the total subscription fees paid by that user in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. StructCalc.online shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, economic or special losses, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, loss of contract, or any losses arising from the user's reliance on the Service for design decisions.
- Indemnity. The user agrees to indemnify and hold harmless StructCalc.online against any third-party claims arising from the user's use of the Service or any output therefrom, including claims by clients, employers or third parties affected by works designed or checked using the Service.
- Governing law and jurisdiction. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
- Acceptance. Use of the Service constitutes acceptance of these terms. If you do not accept these terms, you must not use the Service.
